By accessing or using anomaly.directory, you agree to use the service in accordance with these Terms and applicable law. If you do not agree, you should not use the service. These Terms apply to the public website, archive pages, search functions, structured records, and publicly exposed application interfaces unless a separate agreement expressly applies.

ANOMALY indexes historical reports, testimony, published claims, official records, secondary literature, media, and other source material concerning unidentified anomalous phenomena and related subjects. Inclusion in the archive means that a source or record has been documented; it does not mean ANOMALY endorses the claim, confirms an extraordinary explanation, or considers every source reliable.

You may browse, link to, discuss, and cite ANOMALY records for lawful research, educational, journalistic, personal, or other legitimate purposes. When relying on an ANOMALY record, users are encouraged to cite both ANOMALY and the underlying source identified by the record rather than treating ANOMALY as a substitute for the primary or cited work.

Third-party books, photographs, illustrations, recordings, trademarks, publications, and other material remain subject to the rights of their respective owners. Nothing in these Terms transfers those rights to you.

You must not use ANOMALY to:

• break applicable law or intentionally facilitate unlawful activity;
• misrepresent an archived allegation as an independently verified finding by ANOMALY;
• impersonate another person or falsely imply endorsement, affiliation, or authority;
• attempt to bypass security controls, gain unauthorized access, or interfere with site operation;
• send malicious code, abusive automated traffic, or requests designed to degrade service availability;
• harvest personal information for harassment, stalking, discrimination, fraud, or other harmful purposes; or
• remove source attribution in a way that materially misrepresents the origin or evidentiary status of archive content.

Reasonable automated access to publicly available pages may be permitted where it respects published robots directives, rate limits, infrastructure capacity, intellectual-property rights, privacy, and applicable law. ANOMALY may restrict automated activity that creates excessive load, circumvents controls, reproduces protected third-party material at scale, or undermines site security or availability.

ANOMALY aims to preserve citations, disagreements, uncertainty, and provenance, but the archive can contain transcription errors, incomplete records, disputed accounts, changing classifications, or information later shown to be inaccurate. Records may be corrected, expanded, merged, deprecated, reclassified, or removed as source review continues.

Users should verify consequential claims against the cited underlying material and other independent evidence. ANOMALY is not a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial, scientific, aviation-safety, security, or other specialist advice.

The service is provided on an as-available basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, ANOMALY makes no guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free, complete, or suitable for a particular purpose. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

ANOMALY may link to libraries, archives, government sites, academic resources, publishers, news organizations, repositories, or other third parties. A link is provided for provenance or research convenience and does not necessarily imply endorsement. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices.

Copyright and rights-holder complaints are handled under the Copyright & Takedown Policy. Personal-data practices are described in the Privacy Policy. Questions about how claims are summarized, attributed, verified, disputed, or corrected are governed by the Editorial Methodology.

These Terms may be updated as the archive, its data services, or applicable requirements change. The date at the top of this page indicates the latest published revision. Continued use after an update is subject to the revised Terms, except where applicable law requires a different form of notice or consent.

These Terms are subject to the mandatory law applicable to the service, the operator, and the user in the circumstances. No provision is intended to waive consumer, privacy, intellectual-property, procedural, or other rights that cannot lawfully be waived. A specific governing-law and venue clause should be added when the service operator's legal identity and jurisdiction are formally published.
