ANOMALY treats books, reports, papers, interviews, archives, and other materials as evidence sources rather than as content to republish. Source-linked claims should normally be written as factual summaries in ANOMALY's own wording and tied to a clear citation or locator where available.

Short quotations may be retained when the precise wording is materially relevant to analysis, attribution, comparison, criticism, historical context, or verification. Quotations should be clearly identified, attributed, and no longer than reasonably necessary for the editorial purpose.

ANOMALY does not claim ownership of third-party books, photographs, illustrations, films, recordings, scans, trademarks, or other protected material. Copyright remains with the relevant rights holders. A citation to a work does not imply that ANOMALY owns or licenses the underlying work.

ANOMALY is not intended to host or distribute complete copyrighted books, paywalled articles, unauthorized scans, or other substitute copies of source works. Source records may contain bibliographic metadata, citations, page or chapter locators, summaries, and limited excerpts when editorially justified.

If you are a rights holder or authorized representative and believe material on ANOMALY infringes your rights, a notice should identify the protected work, the specific ANOMALY URL or record at issue, the material you want reviewed, the basis of your claim, your relationship to the rights holder, and a reliable way to contact you. Please also state whether you are requesting removal, replacement with a paraphrase, correction of attribution, or another remedy.

ANOMALY will assess a sufficiently specific notice against the source record, the amount and purpose of any quotation, attribution, applicable licenses, public-domain status, and any relevant legal exception. Material may be temporarily restricted while a credible complaint is reviewed. Depending on the result, ANOMALY may remove material, replace it with a factual summary, shorten an excerpt, correct attribution, add context, or retain the material when there is a documented basis to do so.

Takedown requests are not treated as automatic proof that the challenged material is unlawful, and rejection of a request is not a declaration about ownership. The goal is a documented, proportionate editorial response.

A source can be accurately cited while the underlying claim is disputed, mistaken, or later corrected. Requests concerning factual accuracy, attribution, source relationships, or editorial characterization should be evaluated under the Editorial Methodology rather than treated as copyright complaints.
