Kinross F-89 Radar Intercept and Disappearance

Air Defense Command radar reportedly tracked an unidentified target over Lake Superior and guided an F-89C interceptor toward it. Hall says the two radar blips appeared to merge before radar contact with the F-89 was lost; the aircraft and crew were never recovered. USAF later identified the target as an RCAF C-47, while Hall reproduces RCAF correspondence denying a matching incident.
